ST. MATTHEWS - Graveside services for Rufus Lee Bell, 70, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Gethsemane Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Hanna will officiate. Folk Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr. Bell died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000 in Charleston, W.Va. Born in Clinton, N.C., he was a son of the late Albert Bell and Virginia Martha Bell. He was a retired coal miner and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a Baptist. He was married to Geneva Townsend Bell.
Surviving are his daughters, Virginia Rebecca Bodiford of Barnwell, Vikki Salena Bell Thompson of Denmark; sons, Barry Bell of Orangeburg, Glenn Bell, Christopher Lee Bell, both of St. Matthews; sister, Juanita Odom of Macon, Ga.; brothers, Elk Bell of Raleigh, N.C., John Bell of Macon, Ervin Bell; five grandchildren.
