Married Nathaniel Batson 7 Jan 1830 Henry County, IN
Bluffton, Indiana Bluffton Banner
Thursday, March 31, 1881 P3C5
Died, March 25th, 1881, Mrs. Nancy Batson, wife of Nathaniel Batson, in the 70th
year of her age.
Something more that the mere announcement of the dear departed one, is expected by their friends and relatives. She was the daughter of James Ralston, who with
his family moved from Kentucky to Wayne county, Indiana, about 1818. She was married to Nathaniel Batson, January 7th, 1830, and settled in Henry county, Indiana.
They moved to Wells county, in the year 1837, where they have resided ever since. She was the mother of 13 children, five of them with her husband, have gone before her to the "silent land." Her illness, though somewhat protracted and painful, was borne in a spirit of Christian resignation. Truly in her case tribulation worked patience. During all her years of married life, it seemed to be her desire and purpose to be a good wife and a tender mother; instructing her children, guiding her household, and striving as best she could to walk blameless in all the commandments of the Lord. She is gone and will be missed by her children, neighbors and friends, although lovingly and reverently
they will cherish her memory in the coming years.
