Vernon Stroeing, age 77, died February 23, 2002 at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, Minn.
Vernon Frank Stroeing was born on Sept. 18, 1926 in Lastrup, Morrison County, Minnesota to Henry and Anna (Nathe) Stroeing. He served in the US Navy during WW II. He married Donna Mae Ebnet on June 10, 1954 in St. Paul's Catholic Church in St. Cloud.
Vern lived in St. Cloud all of his married life where he was employed as a meat cutter at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in St. Cloud for 37 years. He retired in August of 1980.
Mr. Stroeing was a member of St. Peter's parish where he was a member of the Ushers Club, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 622, Waite Park American Legion Post 428 and a life member of VFW Post 428.
He was a longtime patron of O'Hara Bros Pub where he was considered "Chairman of the Board".
Survivors include his wife Donna Mae Stroeing, daughter Linda of St. Paul, brother Alcuin of Melrose, and many nieces and nephews.
Vern was preceded in death by his parents, Henry (1969) and Anna Stroeing (1970) and brothers Del (1988), Lambert (1940) and Lee Stroeing (1970).
