She was born on Petit Jean Mountain on August 23, 1922, to Robert T. and Mary Ashcraft Robertson.
She was the widow of James (Bud) Stewart . They had been married 67 years when he died on January 17, 2006.
She is survived by daughters; Mary Lou May (B.J.) of Little Rock, and Priscillia Roberson (Dewey) of Denton, Texas.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Robbin Miller (Wyatt), Stan May (Traci) of Little Rock; Jennifer Dunlap (Eric) of Ward; Donna Watson (Britt), Robert Mann (Jamie) and Becky Burnett of Denton and Sherman, Texas. Great grandchildren; Kassi Marcantognini, Austin &Zack May of Little Rock; Katie, Bailey, Madison, Jacob and Emma Jones, Audrey and Dalton Burnett, of Denton, Texas and Macie and Carson Mann, of Sherman, Texas, Hannah and Georgia Miller of Little Rock. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was the 10th child of 11 and was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Earl , Elvis, Elmer and Robert Robertson; Sisters Ethyl Counts, Evie Gilley and Ettie Gilley, Erma Robertson, Edith Deeter, and. Eula Osborne.
Eunice had been in the food business one way or the other all of her life. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She took many awards from the Arkansas Chicken Cooking Festivals in the 1950’s & 60. She retired as Food Service Director at the Federal Reserve Bank, Little Rock, in 1987 where she served their employees and board members.
She and her husband lived in several towns in Arkansas, but her fondest memories were the years they lived in Grady, Arkansas. She was a member of the Grady Church of Christ, worked with the PTA, the American Cancer Society, home room mother and garden club. She ran the Stewart’s Café in Grady for years where there was always fresh coffee, good meals and plenty of laughter. She hosted all members of the Stewart and the Robertson family for years. Never a week-end go by that she didn’t have a house full. Her only request was I am going to church on Sunday Morning you are invited to go with me. But if you choose to stay home lunch will be served when church is over.
Eunice loved entertaining, cooking, dancing, music, laughter, family, independence and people.
Monday, February 9, 2015 Funeral services at 2 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th Street, Little Rock, AR.
There will be a private burial at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR, at a later date.
Pallbearers are grandsons and great grandsons.
