William Pierce Allen, 79, of Lynn, IN passed away Thursday afternoon, Feb. 5,2015 at his residence. He was born Feb. 9,1935 in Wayne Co., IN the son of Clifford H. and Leona I. (Pierce) Allen. Bill was retired in 1984 as owner/operator of Parmi Tool Company of Lynn, IN.

He attended New Liberty Christian Church in Lynn and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and Indiana Thoroughbred Association. He was an avid lover of horse racing. He owned and trained several racing horses. He loved and surrounded his Lynn community, of which he was involved in many ways. He was active with the Lynn Lyons Club and was a past board member at Randolph Southern Schools. He loved and treasured his grandchildren very much.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 60 years, Mabel A. (Abrams) Allen; two sons, William E. "Beanie" (wife Ann) Allen and Timothy D. Allen (Jane Simmons), all of Lynn,IN; a brother, Robert Eugene Allen of Gallatin, TN; three sisters, Phyllis Ozbun of Winchester, IN, Nancy Driver (husband Herbert) of Conroe, TX and Judy Milligan of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Sheri Ward (husband Danny) of Lynn, Shannon Retter (husband Eric) of Lynn, Jessica Mays (husband Jamaal) of Copperas Cove, TX and Shane Allen of Cincinnati, OH; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Martha and Wanda; and a brother Richard.

A service to celebrate Bill's life will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10,2015 at Thomas Memorial Chapel in Lynn, with Pastor Dale Bales officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9,2015 at the funeral home.
