Houston F. James, 90 years old, longtime Dallas resident and business owner, Pearl Harbor Survivor, and loving father and grandfather died peacefully surrounded by family on February 4, 2015. Born on February 28, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York, he spent his youth in Pensacola, FL. Moved to Dallas in 1956 where he made his home. Pre-deceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Marion Louise Tyo and his son, Robert Houston James. Survived by his children, William James and wife Linda, Marion Terry and partner Clark, Donald James and wife Sheila, Helen Stewart and husband Keith, and Eva Toia and husband John. In addition, his grandchildren Carolyn and Annie Terry, Ben James, Abbey Smart, Marion Wildes, Katy Stewart, Troy Golden, their spouses, and numerous great-grandchildren. Mr. James is slso survived by his brother Bert Brown and his wife Arlene, and several nephews and nieces. Rosary will be recited on Monday, Feb 9 at 7:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75218. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, Feb 10 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 6306 Kenwood Ave, Dallas, TX 75214. Burial service following the mass will take place at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery at 2:15 pm.
