ARCH W. REDMAN — PETERSBURG — Arch Washa Redman, 91, of Petersburg, W.Va., died Saturday, August 4, 1956, at Winchester Memorial Hospital, Winchester, Va.

Born on March 14, 1865, in Petersburg, he was a son of the late Susan Elizabeth (Redman) Walker. In addition to his mother, he also was preceded in death by his wife, Anna E. (Reel) Redman, on May 21, 1946; five sons, Holmes Redman, Page L. Redman, Emmitt Redman, John E. Redman and Charles H. Redman; two daughters, infant Jennie E. Redman and Lena B. Redman, and one sister, Hannah Edwards.

Mr. Redman was a member of Davis Chapel Methodist Church, Petersburg. He was also a farm laborer.

Surviving are two sons, William O. Redman and Olie S. Redman, both of Petersburg; four daughters, Cora L. Redman, Carrie L. Redman and Anna E. Redman, all of Petersburg, and Grace C. Groves, of Hubbard, Ohio; 41 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Samford Walker, of Petersburg.

The body will be at the Schaeffer Funeral Home Tuesday until 8 a.m. and will then be taken to the residence on Town Hill for services at 10 a.m. with Rev. W. T. Graham officiating.

Interment will be in Redman Cemetery on Town Hill.
