He was born December 20, 1927 in Fort Smith to the late Odis and Audrey Stephens.
He was a WWII Navy Veteran and retired from Arkhola Sand and Gravel.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Stephens, one son; Leslie Stephens, his sister Claudia Adams, and one brother; Ed Meadows.
Private services with military honors will be held at the Fort Smith National Cemetery at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
Mr. Stephens is survived by his daughter; Sandra Arnold and her husband Bob of Fort Smith, his son; Odis V. Stephen, Jr. and his wife Delicia of Mountainburg, two brothers; Carl Meadows and his wife Avis of Fort Smith, and Darryl Meadows of Van Buren. He is also survived by six grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
