Ellis A. "Skeeter" Hardy, 88, of Owensboro passed away on August 23, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on July 12, 1924 in Daviess County to the late Robert & Irene Hardy. Ellis was a lifelong farmer in the Sorgho area. He loved fishing, hunting and NASCAR Racing. Ellis was a member of Owensboro Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ira, Murry & Dukie Hardy. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris Hardy; sons, Kevin Hardy (Monica) and Mark Hardy (Phyllis) both of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Carissa Smith (Gabe), Clinton Hardy (Amanda), Amanda Jacobson (Jeremy), Lindsey Corley (Dan) and Matthew Hardy; and seven (soon to be eight) great grandchildren. The funeral service will be at 10 AM on Monday, August 27 at Glenn Funeral Home & Crematory. Jimmy Bunch will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sorgho. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-6 PM and on Monday after 9 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
