She was born in Charlotte, NC. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Smith, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Rosa Lee O’Kelley Smoak and George Hamlin O’Kelley, Sr., along with William Walker Smoak, and paternal grandparents, Christine Phillips Smith and Robert Lee Smith, Sr. She was a 1988 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, and attended Gaston College and Cleveland Community College. She worked most of her career at Smith Insurance Agency as office manager, forming many lasting friendships with clients, and most recently as an administrator at Second Chances Counseling. She enjoyed her service on the Kings Mountain Carolina Thread Trail Committee, and was an avid USC Gamecock fan, following in a long, spirited family tradtion.
