Funeral services will be conducted here tomorrow for John Nelson Chapin, 55, former Stockton resident, who died Saturday in South San Francisco. Mr. Chapin, a painting contractor in Anchorage, Alaska, for the past year, became ill several months ago and flew to the Sam Francisco Bay Area to receive medical treatment. He was in the home of his brother, Frank, in South San Francisco, when he succumbed.
Surviving are his wife, Jessie; mother, Mrs. Edith Chapin of Stockton; four children, Vearl Chapin of Lake Issabella, Mrs. Roger King of Duluth, Minn.; Mrs. Betty McFarland of Novato, Albert Smith of Stateline; seven brother and sisters, Mrs. Theresa Wallis, Mrs. Lillian Roedschki, Gordon, Russell and Charles Chapin, all of Stockton; Lawrence Chapin of Sparks, Nev., and Frank of South San Francisco. Mr. Chapin left Stockton several years ago.
