Elgin Killebrew was born in Travis County, Texas, the son of Floyd and Clara Killebrew. When he was old enough, he enlisted in the Army and served during World War II. After his return from service, he met and married his wife of 63 years, Aline Watson Killebrew. Elgin was in the real estate business for almost 50 years before his retirement. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper, and all-around outdoorsman all of his life. He was a Master Mason and Shriner, serving for many years helping people. He is remembered as a kind, loving person who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

A graveside service was held Thursday, January 2, 2014, at the Bluffton Cemetery with Minister Tim Denton officiating.
