Laura S. Fowler, 82, a resident of Severn for over 40 years and formerly of Texas, died on October 16, 2014 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. She was born on October 31, 1931 in Harris County, TX to the late Rose and Edward Felix Sawyer, Sr. Mrs. Fowler retired from the State of Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in 2009, after 30 years of service as a social worker. She was a member of Heritage Community Church in Severn. She enjoyed visiting and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fowler is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert B. Fowler, and her sister, Pauline Perrotty. She is survived by her son, Edward Fowler of Ellicott City, and her daughter, Marcia Tackett of Medford, OR; her brothers, Edward Sawyer of Texas and Richard Louis Sawyer of Iowa; her sister, Rosalie Clark of Texas; her grandchildren, Meghan Tackett of Portland, OR and Tabitha Tackett of Medford, OR. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1st, 11AM at Heritage Community Church, Severn, MD.
