Ethel Alexander, 91, of Torrington, CT passed away Saturday, January 31st, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Raymond Alexander. Ethel was born in Yonkers, NY on November 13, 1923, a daughter of the late Julia (Lucas) and George Hudak and was a graduate of Torrington High. After secretarial training, she began her work career at Union Hardware. She enjoyed employment at Harwinton Town Office, Bantam Toyota, and Cablevision where she retired at 79. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Harwinton, a member of their Ladies Guild, Mother’s Club, and Senior Choir. She is survived by her son, Raymond Alexander and wife Marjorie of Torrington and her daughter, Laurie Alexander of Waterville ME and grandsons, Spencer and Ryan Alexander of Brooklyn, NY. She also leaves a sister, Helen Nelson of Torrington and sisters in law, Madelyn Hudak of Palm Beach, FL and Patricia Hudak of Harwinton, 20 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday Feb 7 at 11 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will follow at New St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 9-10 AM at Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Ave., Torrington.
