Anita Beryl "Bea" Stivers Perry, 89, of 1945 Blackmore St., died Thursday, May 4, 2006, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

She was born April 17, 1917, in La Grange, Ky., the daughter of Shepherd Edward and Minnie Frances Sailor Stivers. She was employed for 24 years as a stitcher for the U.S. Shoe Corp. plants in Madison and Osgood, retiring in 1983. She lived in the Madison area for most of her life, and enjoyed reading, watching the birds, raising flowers and sewing. She was an avid current events and news person.

Surviving are three sons, Edward Earl Monroe of Madison, Randy Perry of Lexington and Chris Perry of Hanover; three daughters, Tamala Payton of Sulphur, Ky., Kimberly Block of Madison and Lori Kendall of Milton, Ky.; one sister, Delores Jean Nay of Madison; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest Perry Jr., whom she married Nov. 1, 1975, and who died Sept. 8, 2001; one daughter, Judy Monroe Heitz; two brothers, Shepherd Stivers Jr. and Harry Stivers; and two sisters, Frances Basham and Jenny Wilkens.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, with burial in Springdale Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Hospice of King's Daughters' Hospital or the Transitional Care Unit at KDH. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
