Robert L. ‘Bob’ Young, age 82, of Gallipolis, died Saturday January 10, 2009 at Holzer Medical Center. Born February 1, 1926 in Gallipolis, he was the son of the late Lee and Lucille East Young. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife, Eva J. Pierotti Young, who he married on June 17, 1946 and who preceded him on March 22, 1996, and by a brother, Gene Young.
Bob was a World War II Navy Veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater. He was also an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by:

Joyce Young (Hugh) Carmichael
Janet Young (Stephen) Moore
6 Grandchildren: Allyson Young Esposito, Cameron Young Esposito, Britton Young Esposito, Ryan Young Carmichael, Regan Young Carmichael, and Isabella Evangeline Moore

Funeral services will be 9:00 AM. Tuesday January 13, 2009 at St. Louis Catholic Church with Monsignor William Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home on Monday (today) from 4-8 PM.
Prayers will be Monday at 8:00 PM. at the funeral home by Pastor John Holland of the Pt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church.
Military Funeral Honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either the American Heart Association or the Central Ohio Diabetes Association.
