Donald A. "Don" Ledvina, age 81, formerly of 3310 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc,
died late Friday evening, July 13, 2012 at Rivers Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center,
Manitowoc.
He was born on January 30, 1931 in Maribel, WI, son of the late Edward and Viola
(Skarvan) Ledvina. Don graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the
class of 1948. He served in the United States Army from 1948 until 1952 during the
Korean War and was proud to be affiliated with the 101st Airborne. Don married the
former Mary Ann Wenner on June 3, 1954 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville.
She preceded him in death on July 21, 1998. Don was employed with the Ford garage as
a auto parts sales person for many years. He enjoyed hunting near Boulder Junction,
fishing and attending Green Bay Packer games. Don was involved and a member in many
different organizations including, Eagle Aerie 706, AMVETS Post #99, VFW Cato Post
#6179, TPA, NRA, AARP and the senior center. He was also a member of the Republican
National Committee and the Republican Party of Wisconsin.
Survivors include one daughter; Lisa Ledvina and special friend, Steve, Green Bay, one son;
Richard Ledvina and special friend, Lisa, Manitowoc, one grandson; Don Blackburn, Green
Bay. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Don was also preceded in death by one brother; Gary Ledvina.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM on Thursday,
July 19, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic
Church, Kellnersville. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Ralph
Merkatoris with burial to follow in the church cemetery where full military honors will be
accorded by the AMVETS Post #99 of Manitowoc.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the people who helped in his
care for the last year and a half.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
