GREENVILLE ADVOCATE - 28DEC1961 - MRS. ANNA STOECKLIN DIES SUNDAY AT HOSPITAL HERE - SERVICES HELD TUESDAY AT SMITH GROVE
Mrs. Anna Stoecklin, 81, mother of Mrs. Vernon Ohren of south of Greenville, died at Utlaut Memorial hospital Sunday morning at 11:35 o'clock shortly after she had been admitted. She had been at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ohren, since a recent hospitalization.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m., at the Smith Grove Baptist church, the Rev. Donald Whitlock officiating. Interment was in Smith Grove cemetery. The Dewey & Son Mortuary was in charge.
Music at the services was furnished by Mrs. A. H. Gieseke & Mrs. H. C. Gieseke with Miss Mary Lou Mills as accompanist. Pallbearers were Courtney Ulmer, Simeon Foulon, Commodore Milles, Wm. Woker, Stoy Burden & Gene File.
Mrs. Stoecklin was born 10May1880 in Bond Co., the daughter of Phillip & Fannie (Hunter) Smith, being aged 81 years, 7 months & 14 days. She married Henry J. Stoecklin 25Feb1909 at the home of her parents. They lived in the Smith Grove area until 3 years ago when they moved to Greenville. Mr. Stoecklin preceded her in death 09Oct1955. Surviving are a daughter, Ivah, wife of Vernon Ohren, 8 grandchildren, & 19 great-grandchildren. Four children, Mrs. Nellie Reitz, who died 04Oct1960; Edna, in infancy; Eugene, 12Nov1940 & Phillip, 06May1961; have preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Smith Grove Baptist church.
Mr. & Mrs. Walter Lacey of Villa Grove were here to attend the funeral.
