She married 1st to John Campbell Alexander in 1845. They had at least the following children: Sarah Zellner, Ross Alexander, Lollie Alexander, Nonie Wilson, Carrie Hardison, Mary Campbell Alexander.

Mrs. Mary W. Alexander died Sunday night at 11 o'clock at her home in the Carter's Creek neighborhood, at the advanced age of 76 years. Deceased was the widow of the late John C. Alexander, and was a most estimable Christian woman, being a consistent member of the Christian church. She leaves surviving her the following children: Mrs. William Zellner and Mr. Ross Alexander of Thompson's Station, Mrs. Henry Wilson of Jackson, Tenn., Mrs. Henry Wilson of Jackson, Tenn., Mrs. W.A. Anderson of Carter's Creek, Miss Cammie Alexander and Mrs. Dr. Hardison. The funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Beech Grove church by Elder Sewell, and the interment was in the Alexander graveyard. -- Columbia Herald 20 Apr 1900.
