Albert E. Patterson, aged 72, born December 30, 1901 in Montgomery County, Iowa to Edward A. Patterson and Nettie Clark, died September 3, 1974 in the Murphy Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa from trauma from a fall affecting pelvis, Ileum, and Pubis. Burial September 6, 1974 in Villisca Rose Hill Cemetery, Sutphen Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 6 at 2:00 p.m. from the Villisca United Methodist Church for Albert E. “Cappy”; Patterson with Rev. Eldon Haworth officiating.
Casket bearers were: Dick Strickland, Don Carson, Doug Scott, Dennis Scott, Ed Weiner, and Glen Greenfield.
Flower bearers were: Mrs. Glen Greenfield, Mrs. Zoe Dunn, and Mrs. Ed Weiner. Music was by David Hull accompanied by Mrs. Quincy Dunn. The selections were “How Great Thou Art”; and “The Lord’s Prayer.”
In charge of the register was Mrs. Jim Milligan.
Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery with Sutphen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Albert Edward “Cappy”Patterson, son of Edward A. and Nettie Clark Patterson was born in Villisca, December 10, 1901, and passed away September 3, as a result of a fall while working at his home.
On August 14, 1929, he was united in marriage to Irma Doggett at Red Oak, Iowa. To this union four children were born: Donald C. Patterson, Villisca, John M. Patterson, San Mateo, California, Mrs. Jerald (Carol) Greenfield, Villisca, and Mrs. Richard (Norma) Parish, North Platte, Nebraska.
Cappy spent all of his life in Villisca and vicinity with the exception of 3 years when they lived in northern Arkansas. He was a member of the Villisca United Methodist Church and of the Royal Neighbors of America. He was employed in various capacities, in more recent years by the Villisca Community Schools. He is survived by his wife, four children, two daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, a sister, Mrs. Phala Dunn of Little Rock, Arkansas, a brother, Paul H. Patterson, Omaha, Nebraska, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Doggett of Abilene, Texas and many nieces and nephews and a great many friends. He was truly a devoted father and friend to all.
