America was married to Enoch Jasper Haga. So far all the information I have managed to gather is sparse and mostly based on information shared from Carole Puntenney, my second cousin. Carole had public records she gathered and the date of birth and birth place are credited to her. Information came from marriage and census records of Enoch Jasper Haga.
America and Enoch married December 6, 1896 in Smyth County, Virginia.
They had seven children: Gertrude, Joseph, George, Mary, Zollie, Mildred and Mabel. Gertrude was eldest and Mildred was their last child. They had seven children from 1898-1923, a period of 25 years. Their youngest child, Mildred, was my grandmother.
America died in 1937 when my grandmother was 14 years old in Baltimore County, Maryland and is buried next to her husband Enoch on the Ridge on the corner of Ridge and Falls Roads in Baltimore County, Maryland.
America's was a direct descendant of the Cherokee Nation.
