Peggy M. Blair, 73, of Arkansas City died Thursday (May 4, 2006) at the Presbyterian Manor Health Care Unit.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday (May 6, 2006) at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Rev. David Bradley and Rev. Dr. J.L. 'Pete' Ford will officiate. Burial will follow in the Parker Cemetery.

Peggy was born November 8, 1932 in Durant, Oklahoma to M.D. and Anne Lorene (Henson) Gentry. She was reared and educated in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, graduating from Choctaw High School in 1951. She attended Eastern Oklahoma College of Wilburton, Oklahoma.

Peggy married R. Paul Blair on December 25, 1953 at Clayton, Oklahoma. The couple moved to Arkansas City in 1954. Peggy worked as county assessor for nine years, in the school district's hot lunch program for four years, and later as a clerk for Kindred Jewelers for twelve years. She was a longtime member of the First Southern Baptist Church, the Lioness Club and a past member of the Arkansas City American Business Women's Association.

Survivors include her husband Paul of the home; a son, Mark and his wife, Dee Anne of Germantown, Tennessee; two sisters, Ceawilla Ann Burris of Houston, Texas, Mary Eliska Ford of Brentwood, Tennessee; a brother, M.D. Gentry, Jr. of Mears, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Jason and his wife, Heather Blair, Kristen and her husband, Ben Bowman, Erin and her husband, Brad Johnson, Emily Hollenback and a great-granddaughter, Adelynn Grace Johnson. She was preceded in death bv her parents; a daughter, Margaret Ann (Blair) Hollenback; and a sister, Lou Wanda Richard. A memorial has been established with the First Southern Baptist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are being made through the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City.
