Sylvester E. Jenkins, a Wayne county pioneer, died last week at his home in Russell; he came from Indiana to Iowa in an early day, and for many years made his home in and near Confidence. A few years ago he moved to Russell, Mr. Jenkins was and upright and progressive citizen, a staunch Democrat and faithful member of the Christian Church. Funeral services was held at Russell and burial at Confidence, Sept 12;
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Carrie Lewis, of Confidence one son Jim Jenkins of Russell and several grandchildren.
