Mrs. Catherine Abbott, wife of John E. Abbott, 58 South State Street, died Sunday morning at Sherman Hospital after a short illness.
She was born on October 19, 1871, in Chicago and came to Elgin 30 years ago. She was a member of the First Congretional church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Edith Rowe, Mrs. Mildred Popp, Mrs. Blanche Weyrauch and Alice Abbott, all of Elgin; a son, Edward, of Elgin; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Griswold, of Chicago.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Wait-Ross-Allanson funeral church with Rev. Armin G. Weng officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
