Mrs. Rowe was born Oct. 1, 1896, in Chicago to the late John Edward and Katherine Monahan Abbott. She was an Elgin resident for 60 years.
She was employed by Oak Crest Residence until her retirement two years ago.
Mrs. Rowe belonged to the First Congressional Church of Elgin and was a member of the church's Women's Fellowship.
Surviving her are her husband Leslie E. Rowe; a daughter, Mrs. Chester (Mary) Simms of Tulsa, Okla; four sons, John of Dundee, David of Elgin, Roger of St. Charles and Floyd Smithberg of St. Charles; a sister Mrs. Paul (Alice) Williams of Elgin; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
