St. George, Utah - Kay Hunter Nelson passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at his home in St. George, Utah, at the age of 59. He was born August 20, 1955 in Cedar City, Utah to Jerry Nelson and Marie Warren. Kay was born the second son of three boys.

After moving to Southern Utah at the age of eight, Kay spent the best years of his life in Washington, Utah. Kay worked many years at the Moore Business Forms company. His passions were playing and coaching baseball and hunting. Many current and former Washington City residents have fond memories of the tall, thin man with a quick sense of humor.

Kay cherished his birthplace of Cedar City and often retreated to his family’s cabin property up Right Hand Canyon. Kay found solace and peace among the solitude of the Quaking Aspen.

Kay is a father to five children from his first marriage to Cheryl Ivey. Those five children and their spouses; April Nelson Cox (Greg Cox), Sarah Nelson Jones (Mike Jones), Josh Nelson, Summer Nelson Stump (Blair Stump) and Damon Nelson, have so far provided him with seventeen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Cedar City Cemetery, 685 North Main Street, Cedar City, Utah.
