Freedom — G. Barbara Scott died Jan. 21, 2015, at the age of 95. She was a resident of the Glenridge Nursing Home, Cove neighborhood, in Augusta. She was born July 9, 1919, in Freedom to Herbert and Maenon Bradstreet.
Barbara graduated from Freedom Academy in 1936 and from Bangor School of Commerce in 1938.
She was married Jan. 11, 1940, to Frank I. Scott of Bangor and they were divorced in 1969. After her divorce, Barbara worked at Belfast Water District as bookkeeper until her retirement in 1983.
Barbara was pre-deceased by her siblings, Arlene B. Jackson of Freedom, John Edwin Bradstreet of Belfast, Doris E. Cleaves of East Winthrop and Francis Bryant of Belfast.
She is survived by her children, Robert S. Scott and wife Carolyn of Milford, and by Barbara A. Scott of Augusta. She also has a grandson, Kevin R. Scott of Belfast; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Interment will be private at Grove Cemetery in Belfast in the spring. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast. (Republican Journal 1/23/2015)
