83 of Tacoma, went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2015. Born in Danville, Virginia on April 11, 1931, Bernard had distinguished career with the U.S. Army. He continued to serve his country as civil servant on Fort Lewis for another 20 years. He was a member of New Hope Baptist, where he enjoyed singing to the Lord.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lena; sons, Anders, Kenneth, Dennis, Jeffery, and Rodney; daughter, Valarie; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A memorial service with military honors will be held on Monday, February 2 at 1:00p.m. in the Aspen Chapel at Mountain View Memorial Park.
