Sever M. Ness, 67, collapsed suddenly while working on his Eleva Rt. 1 farm Wednesday and was dead on arrival at a local doctors office.

Mr. Ness was born April 27, 1892, in Town of Pleasant Valley, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ellef Ness. A lifetime area resident, he was a member of Eleva Lutheran Church and farmed here with two brothers. A World War I veteran, he was a member of the Independence American Legion.

Mr. Ness is survived by two brothers, Ingvald and Elmer, Eleva, and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Cummins and Mrs. James Hanson, Eleva. Preceded in death by a brother, Joseph and sister, Anna.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Eleva Lutheran Church. The Rev. Calvin Larson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Orville and Richard Myren, Clifford Rudy, Clarence Barneson, Marshall Anderson and Dale Myers.
