At the home of his parents, near spirit Lake, on Saturday, August 1, 1903, Charles W. Harrington, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Harrington, aged 17 years, 9 months and 15 days. The deceased was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Harrington, the eldest having died a few years ago. The first sickness of this young man began some three or four years ago, when he had frequent attacks of epilepsy. About the first of the year he bruised one of his limbs while jumping from a load of straw. After a time blood poisoning set in and about three months ago it was found necessary to amputate the leg above the knee which was done by Drs. Rector & Fitts, of Spirit Lake. It seems that the system was broken down so badly that death came as a relief. The family is quite well known to this vicinity, having lived several years east of Milford. Funeral services were held in Warner chapel Monday afternoon at 2 O'clock, conducted by Rev. R. H. Ready. The interment was made at Okoboji cemetery.
