Bloomington- Funeral services for Reuben French, 82, retired veterinarian, who died May 8 at his home after a long illness were held on Thursday of the past week at his home with Rev. B.R. Bauman officiating. Burial was in Bloomington cemetery.
Born Nov. 8, 1862 at Beetown he worked at the blacksmith trade in Potosi and Minneapolis, Minn., returning to Beetown in 1885 where he was married to Naomi Thomas in 1887. He moved to Cassville the following year where he became a veterinarian, moving to Bloomington in 1903. Mr. and Mrs. French observed their golden wedding in 1937.
Surviving besides the widow are a daughter, Mrs. Grace Lord, Madison; one son, Gerald, Chicago; four grandchildren, one great grandchild and a nephew.
