William J. Bowlin, Jr., 54, of 6821 Southhaven, a retired barber, died in Nashville, Tenn., following a sudden illness. A native of Chilton, Texas, Bowlin had operated barber shops in Corpus Christi for many years. He was vacationing in Tennessee when he was stricken.

Surviving are his wife, Verna Mae; his father, J. W. Bowlin, Sr.; one daughter, Miss Carol Bowlin, all of Corpus Christi; one stepdaughter, Patsy Blackburn of Norfolk, Va.; and one brother, Willis Bowlin of Corpus Christi.

Funeral services will be tomorrow at Clifford Jackson Funeral Chapel with Rex Milford of the Cosner Street Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Seaside Memorial Park.
