Emerson Eugene Evans, 90, formerly of Portland, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at Heritage Pointe in Warren.
He was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Union City. He married Harriet L. Herbst Feb. 14, 1947; she survives.
He is survived by two sons, Robley Evans, of Bluffton, and Rodney Evans, of Manhattan, Kan.; a sister, Mary Minnich, of Eaton Rapids, Mich.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22 at teh Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, 221 N. Meridian St., Portland. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will follow the service in the Green Park Cemetery.
