Doris E. Strotheide, 98, of Flanagan, died at 3:55 a.m. Monday (Jan. 19, 2015) at Good Samaritan Home, Flanagan.
Doris was born Jan. 12. 1917 in rural Flanagan, the daughter of Samuel and Bertha (Zehr) Eigsti. She married Lester G. Strotheide Dec. 8, 1937 in rural Flanagan. He died Dec. 6, 1993.
Surviving are four daughters, Sandra (James) Benner, Janet Bertsche, Carol (Bill) Schmidtgall and Terry (Leroy) Block; four sons, Bob (Sarah) Strotheide, Larry (Cass) Strotheide, Paul Strotheide and Randy Strotheide; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson and three sisters, Nettie Koerner, Gladys Ehresman and Betty Roeschley.
Her parents; a brother, Clyde Eigsti and a sister, Ruth Yordy, also preceded her in death.
Doris was a member of Prairieview Mennonite Church. She worked as a cook for the Flanagan School District and she was a homemaker. Doris was a loving mother and grandmother. She was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever she was asked.
