Ed was born to the late Ferrol and Olive (Woodard) Myers in Winchester, Indiana on April 21, 1945. He graduated from Spartanburg High School and attended college at Lincoln Christian University, where he met and married the love of his life, Carole Sue Paine. After college, Ed served as a pastor to several churches in Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Illinois before returning to his hometown and working for the Richmond Community School Corporation. Ed remained very active in the church and spent much of his free time counseling and helping others. Ed had a special appreciation for people who were hurting or in need, and often gave more than he had to give. He loved doing anything that involved time spent with family.
His family is comforted by the fact that he lived each day to serve the Lord and has finally reached his goal of meeting Jesus.
Ed is survived by his wife, Carole; his daughters, Kim (Rod) Longnecker, Kelley (Joe) Carpenter and Kara (Mike) Yerke; six grandchildren, Jessica (Javier) Castro, Aaron (Jessica) Longnecker, Justin Longnecker, Taylor, Kari, and Sara Carpenter; and four great grandchildren, Izaiah and Natalia Castro, Zayden and Ronnie Longnecker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Joe and a granddaughter, Jordan.
