Frances Nadine (Champion) Ruff, 63, of Clifton, died Monday, May 1, 2006, at her home.

Born April 22, 1943, in Rutherford County, NC, she was the daughter of Mildred (Watson) Champion of Clifton and the late Martin Robert Champion.

A graduate of Cowpens High School, she attended Spartanburg Technical College and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her mother are two sons, Yates Ruff, Jr. and his wife Kelly, and Mark Ruff and his wife Tonya, all of Spartanburg; a daughter, Tiffany Ruff of Boiling Springs; a sister, Norma (Champion) Attaway of Clifton; three brothers, Ed Champion and his wife Margaret of Cowpens, Glenn Champion and his wife Faye of Spartanburg, and Wayne Champion of Blacksburg; two granddaughters, Morgan Ruff and Mackenzie Ruff; two grandsons, A. J. Ruff and Payton Ruff; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Douglas Champion.

Visitation was 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Eastside Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Gerald Burnett and the Rev. Herschel Crain. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church Building Fund, 1850 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
