Phoebe Ann Wright.
There is a vacant chair in another home, and a familiar form and face are seen no more, for the grim ferryman has crossed the shadowy river again, bearing his victim beyond the mists that hide the other shore from mortal vision. But the dark side of the cloud is below, the sun may be shining with glorious light on the other. For another weary and afflicted sojourner the end of the way has been reached, the gate has opened into a home prepared by loving hands, the lines of care have been smoothed out, the tear which told of heart-pain has been wiped away, the tired hands and feet rest at last, and instead of the discord and wail of woe so often heard on earth there now break upon the spirit's ear, attuned for perfect melody, the song of angels and the triumphant shout of the redeemed.
Phoebe Ann Goodson was born August 22, 1847, and was married to Martin V. Wright April 8, 1866. She united, with the Primitive Baptist church during the year 1877, and was baptized by Elder R. M. Ogle. The church of her membership was Mandeville, Mo.

There were eight children born to Mr. and Mrs. Wright, two dying in infancy. The other six, three sons and three
daughters, were present at the funeral services, though one daughter arrived home from Buffalo after her death. She died June 15th, 1906, at her home in Norborne, and was laid to rest at Antioch church cemetery, some eight miles north of Norborne, which is in the neighborhood where the greater part of her life was spent, they having
lived there on a farm until some eleven years ago. She had been in poor health for about 16 years, her affliction growing more serious. But the sickness which occasioned her death was short. The lives of her children testify to the life she lived, and their respect for her faith and love for her life prove that she lived her faith. The funeral discourse was at the home, with a brief service at the cemetery, and was conducted by the writer. W. C
