Harvey Carl Phillips, age 87, of West City, died at 2:20 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at his home.
Ms. Phillips wishes were to be cremated and there will be no public services. Arrangements are through the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton.
Mr. Phillips was born on December 21, 1927 in Benton, the son of Harvey Noel Phillips and Blanche Mary (Tate) Phillips. He would marry the former Juanita Leffler and she preceded him in death.
He proudly served his country for 12 years in the U.S. Air Force. He would later become a U.S. Marshal and after that he was a meat cutter with Smith's Packing and Fitch Packing.
He is survived by two sons: Harvey Allen Phillips of West City, Brad Phillips of Lincoln, NE; a daughter: Carla Eubanks of Northern Illinois; five grandchildren: Troy Phillips, Courtney Phillips, Brandon Phillips, Renea Phillips, Johnny Harling; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister: Jean Wiseman and husband Bob of Carrier Mills; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter: Janet Phillips; and twelve siblings: Neva Phillips, Mary Rone, Elsie Cockrum, Robert Phillips, Julia Hathcoat, Noel Phillips, Jr., Charles L. Phillips, Linda Sue Phillips, Nora Huffine, Noel Harvey Phillips, Lola Burchell, and James Phillips.
