Lola Mae Burchell, 82, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, July 13, 2014, in Stonebridge Senior Living Center.

Ms. Burchell's wishes were to be cremated and there will be no public services. Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton is in charge of arrangements.

Lola Mae Burchell was born on Nov. 26, 1931, in Benton, the daughter of Harvey Noel Phillips and Blanche Mary (Tate) Phillips.

Lola formerly worked for NASA in Florida, and later would be employed by the Mark Twain and BRP Boat Factories in Franklin County.

She loved her many dogs and cats. She will be especially remembered by her family as a loving person who cared for her parents and many of her siblings when their health declined. She loved spending time on her farm and spending it with family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by two brothers, Harvey Phillips of Benton and James Phillips of Momence; a sister, Jean Wiseman of Carrier Mills; and several nieces and nephews.

Ms. Burchell was preceded in death by her parents; and ten siblings, Neva Phillips, Mary Rone, Elsie Cockrum, Robert Phillips, Julia Hathcoat, Noel Phillips Jr., Charles L. Phillips, Linda Sue Phillips, Nora Huffine and Noel Harvey Phillips.
