Lorraine Williams, age 93, of Fargo, ND and former resident of Pelican Rapids, MN passed February 6, 2020 at Rosewood on Broadway in Fargo. Lorraine was a long-time resident of Elim Care for five and half years.
Lorraine Amanda Williams was born March 3, 1926, at Satersmoen’s Hospital in Pelican Rapids, MN to Charles (C.T,) and Emma (Kading) Carlson. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Loon Lake Church near Vergas. She attended country school District 108 and Pelican Rapids High School.
On January 29, 1943, she was united in marriage to Howard L Williams of Vergas, the couple had 8 children. Lorraine was a great cook and loved to entertain family and friends and all were welcome in her home. She loved music and a good polka or waltz and playing Whist or Merry Widow Whist. She worked at numerous cafes as a cook until her retirement. Her grandchildren have very fond memories of going to garage sales, bingo, and other local outings always finishing their stay with homemade cookies and jello.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard in 1965, a son Gerald in 1973 and one sister Lois in 2008, and two great grandchildren as infants.
Lorraine is survived by her children Duane of Jenison MI, his daughters Melissa, Tammy, Sheila; Darrel and Kathleen of San Diego, CA and son Derk; Charlene Windish of West Fargo and daughters Dawn, Aleta, Amy; Gary and Gail of Downer, MN and children Jeremy, Jarrod, Jenny; David and Marianne of Fargo, ND and children Lisa, Theresa, Sara; Steve and Ann of Fargo, ND and sons Dr.Christopher and Anthony; Greg and Tracy of Erhard, MN and sons Justin and Nick. 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MN. Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m. followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 17, 2020, at St. Paul’s Loon Lake Lutheran Church, Vergas, MN with Pastor Del Stohs officiating. Burial will follow in Ringsaker Cemetery, near Pelican Rapids, MN.
