George Reynolds enlisted in William Jennings' 2nd Regiment, Kentucky Militia in Knox Co. in June 1812, and served as a Private in Capt. J. McNeal's Co., Sept. 1, 1812-April 8, 1813. In 1871, he was granted a pension of $8 per month for his service.

George Reynolds married Dorcas Millsaps in Knox Co., Kentucky, Aug. 3, 1813. They came to Indiana in the early 1830's with at least these seven children, all born in Knox Co., Ky.:

Two more daughters, born 1825-1830, were residing in their Kentucky household in 1830, not identified after that.

Jan. 2, 1879, records of Wm. H.H. Terrell:
"George W. Reynolds lived near Columbus, and was a pensioner for services as a soldier in the war of 1812. The name of his captain and the State in which he enlisted are not shown on the pension roll. He died in 1874."
