Anna M. was known as "Aunt Jack" to her family.

Anna M.'s husband, Carlos, was the founder/owner of Maria Garcia Cigars. The business was based in Brooklyn. After Carlos passed in 1923, Anna M. took over the business, even learning to smoke cigars to check the quality of the tobacco shipments. She was featured in several newspaper articles across the country. Apparently it was pretty revolutionary for a woman in the 1920's & 1930's to run their own business, let alone smoke cigars!
