Pittsfield -- Roy "Jack" Garner of Pittsfield died 5:15 p.m. Monday at his home. He was 56 years old. He was born June 16, 1916 in Nebraska, a son of James and Jennie Hoadley Garner. He married Ruth Smith. Mr. Garner had been employed at the Brown Shoe Factory and was a humane officer for Pike county. Survivors include his mother of Pittsfield; his wife; a son James of Justice, IL; a sister, Mrs. Ona Winner of Pittsfield; three brothers, Milton of Barry; George of New Salem; and Harold of Campton; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday at the Sutter Funeral Home with the Rev. John Ruzich officiating. Burial will be in the Samuel Taylor Cemetery at Rockport. Friends may call after 3 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
