Judy Hood was the daughter of Mrs. Judith Maloney, and the estranged Thomas Alston Hood (30135325). Growing up, her father was absent from her life, and though her mother remarried a man by the name of Norbert Comte, this did not last. It wasn't until Judy's mother married one Everett "Red" Boyd that she truly had a father in her life. If asked, she would even tell you this man was her dad..
In her young life, Judy herself met and married a man by the name of Willis Myers 31 Jan 1958, and had her first born son, Larry. This did not last, though, and he left almost as soon as Larry was born. She then married a man called Richard "Dick" Sudmeyer 12 Dec 1959 (cemetery unkn.). They wed, and Richard took over raising Larry as his own, and giving him his last name. To this marriage, two more sons were born, David and Fred. Things took a turn after the birth of Fred whom he did not claim, and Richard, too, left leaving her to raising the boys. He did keep in contact with the elder two boys, but not with his youngest.
Judy did not get into another relationship following; however, she did give birth to a daughter, Kathy Yvonne on Aug 18 1966. There is confusion on who Kathy's father was at this time, because Richard claimed to be that man. She was given the Sudmeyer name as well. In actuality, her father was a man named Earl Flowers, which the family learned later.
After a few years apart, they did remarry 10 Aug 1968. At this time, the family moved to the Crystal City area. A couple months later, Fred left home and moved to Marquand.
It is not remembered when Judy and Richard split again, but it was shortly after this.
On November 28 1974, Judy married the love she had been looking for, Mr. Robert Gano "Tiny" Boyd. They were quite happy, and things had never looked better for the family. He provided a healthy home, love and a father figure. The happiness was short lived, though, as Tiny passed away the following summer on July 13 1975.
As a last attempt at love, Judy married a man by the name of Tom Feary May 28 1976. This was her final marriage, and was to last about 6 years, though there is no information or family knowledge that they ever divorced, which is the reasoning for her surname at death. At the time of the end, Fred was the only child still living at home. After basketball practice one day in his Senior year, he returned home to an extreme altercation with his mother and this man. There was an exchange of words, he packed his mother's and his things, and they left for the night to Judy's mothers. When returning home the next day, Tom was no where to be found and never seen again.

Judy lived in Fredericktown for much of the rest of her life. She did visit with her sons, all who were in the military, and enjoyed South Carolina. She took charge of her grand-daughter Ashley, daughter of Kathy, for some time, until her health began to deteriorate. During the majority of her life, she spent time devoting to others, and researching family histories, advocating for the historic preservation of Fredericktown, sending her children to hunt cemeteries lost in the woods, helping folks to build their family trees, as well as working on her own. This included locating a younger sister of hers that had been adopted by another family (father Norbert Comte), which she was able to meet in the 80's. She loved her family, loved Reese's candies (you could find them stashed all over her home) and enjoyed her visits with her grand children.
Eventually, Ashley moved in with her uncle David, and Judy went to the nursing home where she lived out the remainder of her life. Her daughter Kathy passing just over a year before her on Sept 7 2001. She had several medical issues and had been suffering from diabetes for a long time, but I always remember her smiling.
Judy passed away on Christmas Day in 2002 after 62 years of trial, love, and family. She will be forever missed and forever loved.
