George Bevans moved with his parents from Illinois in September 1854, near Morning Sun, Louisa co., Iowa, where he grew to manhood. In the winter of 1880 he came with his parents to Clarke co.where he spent his remaining years.
He was never married and was the stay and support of his aged parents. His father, two brothers and three sisters preceeded him to the better world. He leaves an aged mother, three sisters, Mrs. Louisa Aronhalt, Mrs. Sarah A. Ohair, and Mrs. Margaret E. Cline, all of whom reside in this county except Mrs. Aronhalt of Morning Sun and Mrs. Ohair near Weldon. His three brothers and brother in law, W. S. Cline were at his bedside when he passed away.
