William H. Bruns, 73, Rockford and formerly of Decatur, Ind., died Jan. 11, 2015, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford, where he had been a patient.
He was born July 14, 1941, in Darke County, to Ferdinand John and Viola Margaret Berning Bruns.
Surviving are six sisters, Thelma (Carl) Grilliot, Loxahatchee, Fla., Wilma (Dale) Quellhorst, St. Marys, Darlene Thees, Celina, Clara Beougher, Rockford, Vicki Giere, Celina, and Mildred (Paul Jr.) Donovan, Celina; three brothers, Robert (Martha) Bruns, Rockford, Mike (Rita) Bruns of Michigan, and Thomas Bruns, Wapakoneta; a brother-in-law, Bill Hornberger, Celina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased are four sisters, Ruth Ann McMahan, Helen Pearson, Marie Hornberger, and Martha (Steve) Young; two brothers, John (Pat Coate) Bruns and Donald Bruns; three brothers-in-law, Larry Giere, Ronald Thees and James Beougher; two nephews, Randy Young and Ken McMahan; and a niece, Jessica Young.
He was an auto mechanic for many years in the Decatur area.
Graveside services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina, the Rev. Charles Richtmyer officiating.
No calling hours are scheduled.
