Raymond Pennington, age 79 of Brookville, died Thursday, October 16, 2014, at his residence.

Born June 25, 1935, in Baltimore, Ohio, he was the son of Lester and Linnie Retherford Pennington. Raymond married Linda Harmon on February 18, 1993, in Miami, Oklahoma, and she survives. He worked 15 years at Fry Roofing and 30 years at Ford, retiring from there in 1997. He also worked at the Lawn Mower Shop in Richmond. Raymond was a member of the Eagles 1129, the 4 O'Clock Club and the VFW.

Those surviving include his wife, Linda Harmon of Brookville; daughters, Debbie (Ron) Hoff, Angie (Phil) Nobbe and Robin (Jeff) Kocher, all of Brookville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-sons, Kenny Harmon and Rick Harmon of Kentucky; six step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilbur “Pete” Pennington of Brookville, Robert “Corky” Pennington of Columbus and Charles “Chuck” Pennington of Seymour; sisters, Hazel Sparks of Columbus, Geraldine Pierce of Brookville, Joy Marsh of Laurel and Betty Jo McDaniel of Brookville.

Besides his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by brothers, Virgil and Jacob Pennington; and sisters, Dorothy Wright and Irene Wells.

The funeral service was Monday, October 20, at 10 a.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home. Burial followed in Maple Grove Cemetery.
