Born November 16, 1950 in Brookville, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Lester & Linnie (Rutherford) Pennington.
On August 11, 1984 she was united in marriage to James Wells, and he survives.
She had been employed at J & J packaging in Brookville for several years. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary of Brookville, and had attended the Baptist Church.
Besides James, her husband of nearly 25 years, survivors include a daughter, Lisa Nichols of Brookville, Indiana and a son, Leslie Mikesell of Brookville; two step-children, James Wells Jr. of Brookville and Sharon Schafer of Grand Junction, Colorado; four sisters, Hazel Sparks of Columbus, Indiana, Joy Marsh, Geraldine Pierce, and Betty McDaniel all of Brookville, Indiana; five brothers, Virgil Pennington of Connersville, Indiana, Wilbur "Pete" Pennington and Ray Pennington both of Brookville, Indiana, Robert Pennington and Charles Pennington both of Columbus, Indiana; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Wright; and a brother, Jacob L. Pennington.
Family & friends may visit from 4 till 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Rev. David Chakranarayan will conduct the funeral services on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home with burial following in Sims Cemetery in New Fairfield, Indiana.
