Mary Susan's original memorial (#34277825?) seems to have disappeared from Find A Grave. If I am mistaken, I will remove this memorial upon notification.

Her mother died when Mary Susan was about four years old. She lost both brothers and her older sister Elizabeth in the 1860s.

She was raised in Wardensville where many of her Orndorff kin made their home. Few Orndorffs appear to have lived in Moorefield, where she moved after marrying, Jonathan Heath in 1867. Mary may have missed having so many of her kin close by. Wardensville is only twenty miles away, but not an easy trek before the advent of modern roads and transportation.

Raised as a Lutheran. Became a Presbyterian after marriage.

Mother of Mary Jane Heath (1878-1954) FAG #79537879, Charles William, James Beverly, Arthur, Jonathan Renax and Lillian Mae.

Died in Petersburg, West Virginia. She was in poor health and had recently gone to live with her newly married daughter, Lillie Day.

She was the mother of Charles William,
Mary Jane, Arthur, James Beverly, Jonathan Renax and Lillie Mae.

Mary Susan's namesake granddaughter recollected being told that she kept her home in "apple pie order." She was also her grandmother used to give her children jelly sandwiches to take for lunch when they went to school. They would trade their jelly sandwiches for the Hutter children's blood pudding sandwiches.

Her granddaughter also said that although Jonathan and Mary Susan were quite poor, they somehow provided a good education for that time to all their children excepting Arthur.
