Services for Charles Marion (Bill) Fitzpatrick, 92, of Vandalia, will be held at Noon, Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Vandalia First Baptist Church Family Life Center with Reverend Marty Miller and Tim Kurz officiating. Burial will be in Hays Creek Cemetery, rural Vandalia.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the Vandalia Baptist Church Family Life Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home.

Mr. Fitzpatrick passed away at 12:46 p.m., January 14, 2015 at the home of his caregiver.

He was born March 8, 1922 in Center, the son of Curtis Marion and Olla Bell Hill Fitzpatrick.

He was married to Emma Irene Watson on April 15, 1941 in Hannibal and she preceded him in death April 22, 2014.

Survivors include: two sons, Charles Nicholas (LeAnn) Fitzpatrick of Holts Summit, and Ricky Raymon (Shirley) Fitzpatrick of Charleston, SC; one daughter-in-law, Jeannie Fitzpatrick of Vandalia; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: one son, Sam Fitzpatrick; two brothers, Earl and Rex Fitzpatrick; and one sister, Buelah Mitchell.

Mr. Fitzpatrick was a lifetime area resident and farmer. He was also a self taught machinist. He was a member of the Hays Creek Christian Church and served in the US Army during WWII attaining the rank of Tech 3.

He enjoyed playing music with others, on both the guitar and the fiddle. He served as a judge for many fiddle contests throughout the area.

Pallbearers will be Wade, Travis, Lyle, Shannon, Kelly, and Shawn Fitzpatrick, and Brandy Holt.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hays Creek Cemetery, in care of Mike Potter, 28001 Hwy F, Vandalia, Mo. 63382.
